History and Guidelines

The first LOL trivia game was pioneered by Lady Mercedes and took place in the Spring of 1998. The game's popularity grew with a leap and a hose and became so popular that it warranted its own board. Times changed, however, and hosed trivia did, too. For a while trivia disappeared from Lallybroch, *sniff*, but it has been reborn on Broch Talk and is currently a bimonthly feature. New games are announced on several of the main message boards at Lallybroch. Please feel free to participate and test your hosed knowledge.

Guidelines for players:

We want this to be lots of fun and for everyone! We will post ten questions, five from each of the two ‘books of the month’, and it will be your job to answer the questions by identifying who, what, when or where the answer is, and what Chapter and Book it is from. You may either answer correctly or with an appropriately hosed answer.

DISCLAIMER: Hosed Answers are for fun only. No prizes will be awarded. Besides, isn't just being hosed reward enough? ;-)

You may use your books! Answers should be e-mailed to the addy which will be provided with the trivia post. You should include your board name and LOL Trivia in the subject line. Real answers posted on Broch Talk will not be counted and will be removed. You may post on the board that you have played and tell us all about the wonderful insights that you might have, but please dinna give away any answers!

You can also post your hosed answers "inside" on the board, but they will not be counted. They are just for fun and to be enjoyed by all.

Winners will be determined by tallying up the number of correct answers. We will give a first and second prize for the highest number of correct answers. If there are many with the same high score, they will be put in a hat to determine the winner and the runner-up.

Winners will be posted on Broch Talk. If you're a winner, please e-mail your snail-mail address to your hosts so that you can receive your great hosed prize.

REMEMBER: Answers on Broch Talk will be deleted. Hosed answers should be posted “inside”. Again, feel free to post your comments and encouragement but please don't give any answers away!

TIMELINE: You will have seven days to come up with your answers, so don't dawdle. We will post the results within ten days of the closing of each game. We are only human and will make mistakes but we will do our best to minimize the errors.

The most important guideline of all is to HAVE FUN!

Posting Answers in a Game

Please post any hosed trivia answers in a reply message in the message box so that they will not be visible to others. Remember, real answers should be emailed to your trivia hosts.
