Left to right - Brianna, Claire, Jamie - and "Ye ken, Sassenach?" Thank you, Lady Maartje.
From Lady Amanda: "I have been working on a painting of Jamie for a few months off and on (during the school year it's difficult to find time) but now it's finished! I thought I'd let you guys know so that you could post it on your 'Outlandish Illustrations' section of the website. This is a fantastic series and it deserves to be paid homage!

From Lady Ilona: "I have recently discovered the Outlander books and have read all of them except Snow and Ashes. I am starting through for the second time. They are the most original and well conceived and written works I have read in a very long time! Diane's Jamie certainly conjures visions....
"

All of the following are from Lady Diane: " I did this one of Jamie and Claire together, my idea of when she found him in the print shop after all those years apart...
"

" My vision of bold Claire and her adoring husband Jamie.
"
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
" This is my interpretation of one of the many rescues of Jamie by his Claire...willing to ride into Hell itself to save her Jamie...
"

" This one is of lovely Claire in her time at the French Court.
"
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
" This is a rough sketch I did of Jamie trying to capture the power, the beauty and the pathos of this complex Man.
"
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
"Just wanted to send this new drawing I did today...I think it is my best yet of our man Jamie Fraser...I think I have caught one of his looks that Diana describes in The Fiery Cross.
"

" Was up early this morning and decided to try my hand at sketching Dougal MacKenzie. Found a great picture of Liam Neeson as Rob Roy for inspiration. Dougal has the deadly claymore at the ready.
"
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
" The Irish smuggler Stephen Bonnet said since I had drawn pictures of Jamie...I should try my hand at interpreting him...lol, so here he appears sorta based on a picture I found of gorgeous Sean Bean.

From Lady Tess: "Hi, I was playing around with the computer program Poser and produced a Jamie-esque character. Thought you might like to see. I think I've got the eyes and the mouth but the nose needs a little tweaking.
"

From Lady Stacy: "Hi, I have some drawings of the Laird and Lady that I would like to add to your Outlandish Illustrations section in LOL.

From Lady Hilary: "I'm a confirmed Jamie addict as are many of my friends. Like many, I'm fascinated by what Our Man in Scotland looks like. I've mucked about and photoshopped a picture of to get an idea [first pic]. I stuck his head onto the photo of an actual early 18th century noble tartan outfit on display in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh. This is before the sewn kilt was invented in the very late 18th century (by an Englishman, no less), and includes the tartan trews, rather than breeches and hose. Plus a bonnet nicked from Bonnie Prince Charlie (sorry. He had the best one.) Then blurred a bit so that if you squint, it all sort of comes together [second pic]."

From Lady Deb: "I've gotten into sculpting character dolls in 1:12 scale over the past couple of years, and a Jamie portrait was inevitable. He's in the wrong color tartan, but it's the only miniature pattern I had at hand when I finished him. I've searched all over and haven't been able to find clan Fraser tartan in miniature. I did manage to find a miniature red version of clan Malcolm, which I would imagine would suffice! So my next one will be dressed in all his "flaming red." He's made of polymer clay, and stands a little over 6 inches tall. He's currently standing on top of my computer at work. The first thing the office mates do when they see him is pick him up and peek under his kilt. When they're shocked and "surprised to find only Jamie" under there, I tell them "well YOU"RE the one who looked!" Yes, he's "regimental" and yes, he has all his parts! Just thought I'd share.

From Lady Mererid: "Hello there! I've been really bored tonight, so I thought I'd send you my little drawing of 'Jamie'! It's based on a picture I found of Gerard Butler (yum) in the 'dressed to kilt' fashion show. It's not the best I've ever drawn, but I enjoyed drawing it none the less!"
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
From Lady Melissa G: "I had been looking for a drawing of Young Ian for a long time, and couldn't find any. So I decided to order a commission from an artist in Brazil. This is the drawing of Ian and Rollo that the artist, E.D. Siffert, made for me. I have the original at home, which is made in sepia lead on cream/yellowish paper. This image is a scanned copy that the artist will use for her webpage. Please note that the work is copyrighted, and that I'm not the owner--the artist is, so copies are not allowed."
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
From Lady Melissa D: "I just wanted to share my personal vision of Jamie. I play a popular online game called Guild Wars and I made a gorgeous character in Jamie's likeness. I named him Red Jamie Fraser, of course!"
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
From Lady Saw2256: "I did a little photomanipulation of a Jamie. The background is a cottage in Scotland behind some standing stones and the model comes from a romance book cover. The eyes belong to Jason Lewis, nose to Gerard Butler and mouth to Gabriel Aubry. I figured, if we can't find the perfect Jamie, why not engineer one?"
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
From Lady Sisi: "This is my contribution. * J & C 4 ever* and may all of you searching for love find one as passionate as this."
[click on the thumbnails to see the larger images]
From Lady Zodiac Lung: "My mom (who introduced me to Outlander back in 1997 or so) drew this last night whilst listening to to DIA on CD: I drew her last night while I was listening to my book. Any Ideas? Claire maybe, or Brianna perhaps?"
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
From Lady Sjouwke: "In February I ordered from Angelique Hoekstra of Angel's Little Ones in Groningen (NL) a scale 1:12 doll (= circa 15 cm tall). Angelique is a real artist on miniature dolls. After months of searching on dollhouse fairs and on internet for the doll I wanted, I ordered it from her. What kind of doll did I long for? James Alexander Malcolm McKenzie Fraser, or: Jamie Fraser. From the books of Diana Gabaldon. To live in Fraser's Ridge, that I am making in 1:12 scale."

From Lady Suzanne D: "I am a Gerard Butler fan. Can you tell? I also like to play with Photoshop. Can you tell? This is what
happens when I'm bored. I just wanted to see that Scotsman in a real kilt and somehow Jamie Fraser came
out of it."

From Lady Anne in England: "My concept of Jamie & Clair and Brianna. "
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
From Lady Tania in New Zealand: "Have a look at some pics I made of what I think
Jamie and Claire would look like...... "
[click on the thumbnails to see the larger images]
From Lady SaraL: "These are some dolls I made from eLouai's Candybar Doll Maker. Of course they didn't have 18th century clothes, so I did the best I could with what was shown, cutting, pasting, editing in Photoshop. I even made Jamie a little sporran!
"

From Lady Anne in Germany: "Hi, I'm from Germany and I've drawn this picture of the young Claire. I'm not good in drawing but I hope you like it. I can't stop reading the books of Jamie and Claire! Fantastic website! Thanks."
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
From Lady Kristine: "I want to seize this opportunity to send you a photo I took last year during my Scotland holiday. It's the photo of a valley that comes very close to what Lallybroch looks like in my mind when I read the books (taken August 2003 near Glenelg, West Coast, on a single track road).

From Lady Jenn J: "Hello I have been a fan of Outlander for years now and recently I saw a photo of Gerard Butler from the upcoming Beowulf film and I had found what I had envisioned of Jamie for the very first time. I then went into my Paintshop Pro and worked up this doctored photo of him and this is the result. I hope you like it. Just thought I would share.

From Lady Chiara in Italy: "Here I am again with... my own Jamie, one I can go to bed with... the front and the rear of a t-shirt I painted for my loved man, inspired from Jamie's blood vow.
"

From Lady Kerry: "I was just tooling around with Photoshop. The model is a 25-year-old Australian model named Travis Fimmel. He caught my eye with the Jamie look. He's blonde, so I reddened up his hair. "
[click on the thumbnail to see the larger image]
From Lady Lissy in Germany: "I would like to show you my interpretations of DG characters. The first one is Jamie & Claire watching their "temporaily" home, Lallybroch. Second one is my idea of the young Jamie."
[click on the thumbnails to see the larger images]
From Mother Hildegarde in Germany: "I tried to imagine how Jack Randall may look. As I saw the film "Titanic" yesterday, I saw Billy Zane for the first time and in my opinion he has a really devious face, but he's looking really good. So he's the perfect Jack Randall, I think. I've taken one of his photographs I found on the WWW, and a painting (it's Oxford, I guess) and put them together in Photoshop. The dress is from another website (ancient customes tailor)."
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady Chiara in Italy: "I'm not that good in drawing - I had to copy the muscles from an underwear advertisement- but I hope you'll like the picture of
my own Jamie. I've tried to do a full-body paint, but clothes are difficult to draw correctly, and the naked version wasn't
anatomically correct- hands too small, I guess. *VBG* So, this is the half-body version of my Jamie. Still not as bonny
as in my mind... "
[click on the thumbnails to see the large images]
From Lady Kaethe in Germany: "I was very glad to discover this page... I had a very amusing afternoon, that is what I can tell you... After having looked at the drawings I decided to try to draw Jamie, too. In this e-mail I will send you my picture, and I hope you will post it, like the other ones. I know it is not the best, because after half an hour I threw away my pencil...you can't express what is really in your mind, it is always the same... but nevertheless, I would be very pleased if "my jamie" was shown on this page, too. "

From Lady CrystalSinger in Canada: "After thinking about sending this for quite some time, here is my rendition of James Fraser. It`s been painted completely in Paint Shop Pro. "
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady Zion: "Hum, this is my vision of Fergus (Chris Klein is the model) but I drew, basing him especially on DG's description... ( dark, frail, little eyes, slender lips, aquiline nose ect.. ) and this is my result... I drew him with a St Dismas medallion. I think this is Fergus' symbol. This is the same procedure with Jamie (no need description I thinks??) I drew together because they are my favourite characters, and it's a pleasure to have a representation of them. I hope you'll like it. "

From Lady ElliM: "Hi, this is my illustration made on Paint Shop Pro 8. It's Jamie and Claire in Outlander, when they were both quite young! "
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady AnjaM in Germany: "My name is Anja Mueller and I'm from Germany. I happened to find this page with all the pictures and drawings of how people seem to see Jamie Fraser, Claire Randall or Brianna, and since I had my imaginations too, I came up with a drawing. Hope you like it. "
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady Claudine in Quebec: "I'm very happy you like the picture!!! It is drawn first in pencil, after in ink and the color is by photoshop. It is that simple. Also I want to thank you to put my drawing on your site :) "
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady Nadine from Germany: "Diana Gabaldon said in her books that a Highlander in his kilt is an impressive sight - this inspired me to do this picture of Jamie. I wanted to see what a Highlander in his kilt really looks like! I did a lot of research before making this pic. For example, I tried to apply the original "Fraser of Lovat" tartan pattern to his plaid. There is also a wallpaper of it - you can find it here on my website at www.whitelady.de."
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady Sheila: "Since
reading the Outlander series, my friends and I have all been in search of the
perfect Jamie. Still no luck! I'm not an artist - but did the best I could to
come up with a drawing that most closely resembles what I think he looks like.
The books are phenomenal - never have I experienced such rich characters in
print before."

From Lady Kerry: "Hi.
My name is Kerry. I am new to the LOL website, but an old "captive" of the
outlander books. I live just outside of Ottawa, Canada, but had the most
fortunate, fateful luck to have lived in Texas (Dallas) area for a year while my
husband was transferred there. Being 2000 miles away from home, and not knowing
a soul, I was miserable indeed. Then I met my next door neighbour, became fast
friends, being that out spirits knew each other forever, and she intoduced me to
Outlander . Though not a cure, Jamie helped me forget about all my family and
friends being so far away. I immensely enjoyed the book, but then got incredibly
busy as we were moving back to Canada and me with a wee bairn on the way, I only
muddled my way through the first 1/3 of Dragonfly. My neighbour gave me a gift,
a copy of Outlander....autographed by Herself. She had travelled all the way to
Houston and back and presented me with this gift. I was touched, and very happy
to receive it. After nearly a year back home , I picked up Dragonfly again and
gave it the attention it deserved. Now completely swept away, I read the rest
and have just recently finished Fiery Cross , and am now perusing "companion".
What I thought was simply a nice gift, is now one of my most treasured
possesions. That autographed copy is a cherished link to the amazing series of
novels that has swept me away, when I swore "I don't read romance" (having since
learned the absurdity of even suggesting DG in that substandard category) and
more importantly is a lasting tangible memory of an amazing friend who helped me
feel a little more at home, so far away. I miss her very much, and thank her for
prescribing my first dose of outlander---addiction be damned!! So I would like
to dedicate this illustration, my mind's eye of Jamie and Claire, to her.
Christie Mack, this is for you with all my heartfelt thanks!!!"

From Lady Angela Rambo: "It
took me two days to color, but about five minutes to draw."

From Lady Carole: "[These] are a friend of mine's drawings (I could only dream of drawing like that). She has given me permission to post them, and they are posted on the web at a different site, but I thought you all would appreciate them as well. Her name is Lisa Rourke and the attached drawing is actually her rendition of a completely different fictional character, but it matched my vision of Jamie so well, I had to share."

If you liked the pictures tell the artist: send feedback to lmrourke@yahoo.com.
From Lady Brianna: "I did this using Adobe Photoshop, and you can completely tell that the whole thing was done while reading it [Outlander], because every time I got to another little detail, I'd throw it in the picture (um, like clan tartans and badges??!!)."
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady Faith, from Austria: "Here are my pictures! My drawing-talent isn't the best but I think they succeed! I'm sure everyone has his own Jamie in his mind. I just tried to give him the face of my fantasy and Claire, too, because I love her character and I adore her personality. There's no help... I'm hopeless hosed!" The third drawing is a reproduction of the German cover for "Feuer und Stein" (Outlander)
From Lady Britta, from Germany: "The one of Jamie is a collage from Photo, Painting and I gave the finish to it in my Computer and the one from Lallybroch I made with colour after idea from a photo."
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady SylviaA, in the UK: "It's been at least 10-15 years since I last attempted drawing a face (I normally do portraits of cats and dogs), but I've been working on this for 6 months - inspired by the BOOKS - and I think it's turned out ok, considering I'm a bit rusty! There's a faint line separating the pic, that's how it turned out after the scan (DS Mike had to scan it in 2 sections), but that's the fault of the scanner! Not too noticeable though. It would be great if you put it up on the boards and maybe it'll spur all those other LOL artists to get going with the paints!"
[click on the thumbnail to see the large image]
From Lady Jacinthe: "I thought maybe you'd like to see what I think Brianna Randall Fraser (which is rarely mentioned on the boards, but I love so much) looks like... Hope you like it."

From Lady Sabrina in France: "I saw on your site the drawings dedicated to Jamie Fraser, and I join one of my drawings. "

From Lady M.F.: "I did this picture with pastels on a fine sandpaper. I saw the original picture in a Scottish Tourist magazine but it featured a fly fisherman - he seemed to spoil the mood so I took the liberty of leaving him out."
